Clean!

For those of you who remember my first post where my scrap room had been taken over by a mad scientist, here is the improvement...

Welcome to my scraproom.  When you step inside you will hear my guinea pig "alarm."  4 cuties live in that big plastic tote.  They squeal because they think you have CARROTS!  I am getting ready to cut it down to 2.  Want a pig?  Toby the Shih Tzu is waiting under the table to greet you!

It feels SO good to have my paper all organized.  All my 12x12 patterned papers are organized in 2 carts.  The last cart holds all my cardstock.  The first 2 carts hold a lot of my embellishments.  The tote in the floor holds all my Stacks and Packaged Collections.  I am not liking Stacks of paper so much.  I am usually sick of it before I can even use half of it!  Toby is still watching us.

I put a twin bed in my scrap room.  It is where my Mom sleeps when she comes to visit.  The drawers hold my alphabets, Creative Memories Cutter System, and my Nestabilities. On the shelves is one of my favorite photos of my girlies, a breast cancer awareness bandana in memory of Chrispea, an owl, my WW 10 pound ribbon, and the red/white necklace I wore to the Valentine's Dance in 4th grade.  I love my Yoga Dogs calendar!  The tote at the end of the bed holds my Mom's scrappy supplies.  My mom made the quilt out of all the fabrics she has used over the years to make my Grandma's dresses.

The dresser holds punches, cuttlebug, cricut, sizzix, and misc. in it's drawers.  Then we have card kits, envelopes, blank cards, and lots of misc. in the plastic drawers.  The "Just the Girls" frame still holds the pic that came with the frame.  The pic on top of the white shelf is me, mom, Emily, and my sister.  The flowered handkerchief was my grandma's.  The pile at the far left is my littles' supplies.

My flower and ribbon collection.  My clock that still has the pics in it that came with it.  My mask from New Orleans.  The little guy hanging with the ribbon is my voodoo doll.

Albums, cutting systems, magazines, stamps, glitter, ribbons, books, stamp pads, layouts, kits, etc. etc. etc. lol

My view from my chair.  My hedgehog, Whimsy, lives in the tank sitting next to me.  I use the bowl for my trash.

I almost forgot to mention my "dollcase."  This was a gun case until Hubby decided to put his guns in a GINORMOUS safe.  It holds my Boyds Bears and Lee Middleton Doll Collections.  I have 2 Annette Funicello bears too.  Oh and my childhood doll, the Gerber baby, is in there too.  My Mom made the Scotty Dog quilt for me.

Thank you for visiting and letting me redeem myself after posting the BEFORE pic.  If you haven't seen the before it is in the post "I Create Like A Mad Scientist."

Happy Scrapping!

Going Back In Time

Red cardstock - Bazzill, Black cardstock - Recollections, Red glitter paper - unknown, Black glitter paper and Black cut out - Colorbok,
Over at 2 Peas in a Bucket they are having a Winter Social for CHA.  I did this layout for one of the challenges.  You had to use one color.  This also worked for the challenge at SSS...to use one color.

Background paper - Dollar Tree, photo mat and journal box paper - Creative Memories, Butterflies - Jolees, title - Thickers

I really went back in time {10 years} to do this layout.  Easter 2003!  My how my niece and nephew have grown.

This layout was for another Winter Social Challenge at 2 Peas.  We had to use "6 of the same."  I used 6 glittery butterflies.  This is one of those layouts that is so much more colorful in person.

Off to complete more challenges!  I hope to win a prize!  Who wouldn't want some new scrap goodies to play with?!

Happy Scrapping!

Only 1 Hour!

cardstock - Bazzill Flat Broke and Tangerine Blast, patterned paper - Bo Bunny Apple Cider, leaves - Walmart, chipboard flourishes - Bo Bunny Zoology, Brown flowers - BBP, buttons - Sticko, Yarn - 1974 haha

Yesterday I participated in an one hour challenge over at Creating Keepsakes.  I was a little nervous.  I am new to that board AND this was the first time I ever tried to finish a layout in that amount of time!  Plus my scraproom still looks like it did in the photo two posts ago!

When I logged on and saw the challenge was to use yarn on a layout I panicked!  I don't have yarn!  I have ribbon...I have string...I have fibers!  No "yarn."

Then I remembered a bag of assorted ribbons that my oldest daughter had picked up at a yard sale for me years ago.  She was so proud of this bag she had gotten for a quarter that I didn't have the heart to get rid of it.  It contained lots and lots of ribbons and strings from what appeared to be the 70s...maybe 80s.

I quickly pulled the bag from my drawer and found YARN!

I remember seeing this type of yarn in a lot of school photos from the 70s...maybe 80s.  Every little girl had them tied in their ponytails and dogears.  The cardboard it was wrapped around had a price tag from MONTGOMERY WARD!  It said 90 cents, but was marked through with red and discounted to 45 cents.

Well, as you can see from the photo it all ended well.  I didn't win the box of goodies, but I had a blast!  I even shoved all the "vintage" items back in the bag and put it back in the drawer.

I REALLY enjoyed the one hour challenge!  I plan to join in on the next one too!

Happy Scrapping!

Let's Go To Kalahari!

In August 2012 we piled into the car to travel to Sandusky Ohio.  We stayed at the Kalahari Resort.  I purchased this album at one of the gift shops in the resort.  Unfortunately they were sold out of the coordinating paper pack and embellishments.  Boo.

BUT!

I had a successful hunt at Archivers for papers that would coordinate.  Actually, they look like they were made for the album!

Thank you God and Bo Bunny!

Background cardstock - Bazzill Pinecone,  Photo mat cardstock unknown, OHIO plate- License to Travel by Reminisce, All other elements are Zoology by Bo Bunny

This is page 1 of the album.  The only 1-page layout.
My sweetie is so secure in his manhood that he is able to snuggle with a ladybug pillow pet.

Photo mat black cardstock unknown, everything else is Zoology by Bo Bunny

Going into the resort for the first time was a treat for the eyes!  African Safari everywhere!  How fun!
While I waited in a long check out line my hubby sneaked in to the sweet shop and got everyone ice cream!

background cardstock- Bazzill Beige, Green strip - Bazzill Hillary, black photo mat unknown, everything else Zoology by Bo Bunny

My hubby was the Evil Knievil of the Petting Zoo!  Check him out feeding an apple to the zebra!

Background cardstock - Bazzill Ivy, All other elements Zoology by Bo Bunny

Another Evil Knievil shot on this page.  This was a really cool zoo.  We bought a bucket of food to feed the critters.  So fun!

Who could resist all those furry faces?!

This is probably the most neutral pages I have done in a row!  You probably noticed that I really really put that Bo Bunny Zoology line to good use!  I did manage to sneak in some brights for the pages about the outdoor waterpark and Cedar Point!  I'll show you those tomorrow!

Happy Scrapping!

I Create Like A Mad Scientist!

Nothing like a good first impression. Haha

My Scrap Sister Marilyn challenged us to take a before photo of our scraproom for our upcoming January crop.  Then we have to clean it all up and post an after photo of the CLEAN!  A fresh clean place to create for the crop weekend.

Well, here is mine!  Here are my excuses...

1.  I just had a guest leave that slept in the bed.
2.  The file folders held the paper I just reorganized in the carts you can not see in this photo.
3.  I am two 2-page layouts away from completing our Summer 2012 album.
4.  I am out of excuses and wish I could say that my children did part of it, but as I tell my kids.  "Jesus doesn't like it when you lie."

I am reigniting my passion for scrapping {my husband is so happy NOT!}.  So what better way to mark a fresh start than with a new blog!

I hope you come back.  I hope the mess doesn't scare you!

Cliffhanger...what is in that 20 gallon tank? {Hey it works to keep people coming back to soap operas}

Happy Scrapping!
